A day in the beautiful Val Cavallina in the province of Bergamo, discovering our area’s historical, artistic and natural heritage!
This excursion will enable you to discover the evocative Benedictine monastery of San Paolo d’Argon and the museum of contemporary art in Luzzana, and, while you are walking in a natural setting, you will meet Giosuè Meli’s Stone Giant, carved into the bare rock in a grove!
The visit comprises a guide for the whole day, subject to the opening times of the locations to be visited (transport and meals excluded).
PROGRAMME FOR THE DAY:
MORNING:
– Expected arrival at the Abbey of San Paolo d’Argon at 9.30 a.m. – Breakfast.
– 10 a.m. – San Paolo d’Argon: visit to the Benedictine Abbey founded in 1079 and to the Church of the Conversion of St. Paul (17th century). Estimated time 90′.
AFTERNOON:
– 12 noon – Lunch at Luzzana Castle: Flavours of Val Cavallina based on local products.* Estimated time 90′.
– 1.30 pm – Luzzana: Walk in the Parco del Gigante with a visit to the rock sculpture Il Gigante (the Giant). Estimated time 60′.
– 2.30 p.m. – Luzzana: Visit to the Contemporary Art Museum. Estimated time 60′.
– 3.30 p.m. – Transfer to Lake Endine with nature walk. Estimated time 60′.
– 4.30 p.m. – On the way back, visit with the opportunity to buy traditional zero mile products. Estimated time 30′.
– 5 p.m. – Trescore Balneario: Visit to the Medolago wine cellars: producer of Valcalepio DOC. Estimated time 60′.
– 6 p.m. – Start of return journey.
Entrance fee and guide €20 per person, €10 for people under 10 years old. Everything not specified is not included in the price. Minimum 15 participants.
