Opening on Saturday 11th May 2024, 5.30 p.m.
The exhibition is part of the 500th anniversary celebrations of the cycle of frescoes painted by Lorenzo Lotto in the Suardi Chapel in Trescore.
The works of 4 artists are exhibited: Marco Rossi and Angelica Consoli with already significant exhibitions on the national scene; Emma Castellani and Emanuele Mini, two very young students from the Santa Giulia Academy in Brescia.
Their works investigate the Lotto themes shown in the frescoes of Trescore.
Marco Rossi, in his video entitled “FALLING”, drawing after drawing, takes us on a travel in the concept of the imagined tale in a series of theatrical scenes, a succession of images that appear and disappear from imagined and experienced scenes. Angelica Consoli, using paraffin and virgin beeswax recovered from nuclei of bees that she takes care of, reconstructs in a site-specific work “UNTITLED”, the alchemy and transformation of matter in full poetic with the conversion of the message that we find in the work of Lotto. Emma Castellani, proposes a series of small-format photographic images, the essence of pure artistic and life research. These small works, entitled “UBI CONSISTAM”, are reworked with graphite and wax and create that ‘stable point of support’ as the basis for the search for one’s coherence. Emanuele Mini with the work “TRABUCCO-1” (mixed media with tar and acrylic) depicts intertwining threads, structures, and poles that become stairs to the sky: the metaphor of the construction of the path of man and the “saint”.
Exhibition curated by Maurizio Bonfanti and Raffaele Sicignano.
