Tra Torri e Castelli – 17th Edition

On 20 September 2026, “Tra Torri e Castelli” returns. AIDO and AVIS Casazza are organising the 17th edition of the non-competitive walk at your own pace along the routes of the Val Cavallina.

PROGRAMME:
– Meeting point:
7 a.m., at the Sports Centre, Via Domenico Suardi, 2, Casazza;
– Start: at your convenience from 7.30 a.m. until 9 a.m. from the sports facilities. Families are advised to start at 8.30 am;
– “Casazza Bandiera Azzurra 2026” group start: At 8.30 a.m., immediately after the ceremony, the special guest – appointed for the occasion by FIDAL as part of the BANDIERA AZZURRA project – will give the starting signal to the group of participants, comprising everyone wishing to share this festive moment together, after which they may set off at their own pace along their chosen route.
The route will remain open and supervised by organisers until 11.30 a.m.;
– Prize-giving: at 10.30 a.m. at the meeting point, at the municipal sports centre. An award will be presented to the youngest boy and girl, a special prize to the youngest woman and the oldest man, and a trophy and food hamper to the largest group.

– Registration:
individual participants – from 7 a.m. until 9 a.m. directly at the starting point; groups – by 10 p.m. on 19 September by telephone (Alessia Meli +39 3383502035 or Sergio Zappella +39 3489336043) or by email to info@aviscasasazza.it. A commemorative gift will be provided to the first 500 registrants. After this date, only registrations at a reduced rate will be accepted;
– Entry Fees: €5 for the walk and a participation certificate; €3 for the walk without a participation certificate.

– Routes: Once again this year, you can choose from three routes of varying lengths: approximately 8, 14 and 19 km. Here is a preview of the routes: click here to view them on Google Maps;
– Route tracks: Short route (8 km – yellow arrows) – download KML/GPX; Medium route (14 km – blue arrows) – download KML/GPX; Long route (19 km – red arrows) – download KML/GPX;
– Refreshment points: 1 for the 8 km route, 3 for the 14 km route, 4 for the 20 km route. Refreshment points will offer packaged food and drink, as well as various fair trade food products;
– Showers and changing rooms: available at the finish line;
– REGULATIONS: Participants must comply with the provisions of the current Highway Code and its implementing regulations. Along the routes, at refreshment points or at the entrances to sites being passed through or opened to the public for the occasion (Monasterolo Castle, Cavellas Museum Complex, Casa Suardini, Casa Lodi-Traini), checkpoints will be set up where staff may ask participants to show their registration voucher. Anyone found without a registration voucher will not be admitted to refreshment points or entry points. The route will remain open and supervised by the organisers’ staff from 7.30 a.m. until 11.30 a.m.;

NEW FOR 2026: The new routes pass close to some of the Val Cavallina’s historical and architectural landmarks. In some cases, the route simply runs alongside them. In others, it crosses through them. Specifically, the routes include: a walk through the courtyard of Casa Suardini in Casazza; a walk near Mologno Castle in Casazza; a walk through the grounds of Bianzano Castle; a walk through the courtyard and garden of Monasterolo del Castello; a walk through the archaeological site in Casazza, accompanied by volunteer guides from the Val Cavallina Museum; and entry to Casa Lodi-Traini in Colognola di Casazza.

The organisers reserve the right to make any necessary changes to the routes should adverse weather conditions or the state of the route compromise the safety of participants; the event may go ahead with last-minute changes to the length of the various routes or the route layout.
