The start of this demanding route is in Trescore Balneario, in the Macina area, where there is a large car park. From here you follow the entire Val Cavallina cycle path to Monasterolo del Castello and continue along the road to San Felice, which leads to Endine Gaiano, also intersecting the Valmaggiore health trail.
At this point, take the “Flavio Tasca” rural tourism track to the hamlet Fonteno, which offers a breath-taking view of Lake Iseo. Near the church, take the panoramic ascent to Mount Torrezzo (challenging, it’s a good idea to take some water with you), during which you can see the caves of Fonteno.
Having reached the Torrezzo pass, cycle downhill towards the Colli di San Fermo (San Fermo hills) by taking the road about 500 metres before the “Al Valico” restaurant. When you reach a pine grove, continue towards the “G.E.M.B.A.” mountain lodge, and, on fast single-track trails, go down along the “Faeto Colletto”.
When you reach the fork at the hamlet named Sommi, take the “Pitone” and “Gozzini” trails to reach the hamlet Santo Stefano (Carobbio degli Angeli). From here you take the Val Cavallina cycle path again and return to the starting point.
