Thermal baths of Trescore

Trescore Balneario

Even Garibaldi had aches and pains, and to cure them, he visited Val Cavallina. The hero of the two worlds is one of the great guests of the Trescore Thermal Baths, whose sulphurous waters have been famous for centuries for their curative properties. Like him centuries earlier, the great Bartolomeo Colleoni, leader of the Venetian Republic, was struck by the phenomenon and decided to renovate this ancient spa resort, already known at the time of the Gauls. Just a stone’s throw from Lake Iseo, surrounded by gentle hills covered with vineyards, even today, the Trescore Thermal Baths are perfect for a relaxing break and to recover, even if you are not a condottiere. Still, every week, you fight against stress and seasonal ailments!

Would you ever have guessed that Garibaldi suffered from arthritis? In the 19th century, the sulphurous waters of Val Cavallina were among the most prestigious in the country. They attracted not only people from all over Italy but alsoAmericans who stopped here for a rejuvenating break.

It was the commander Bartolomeo Colleoni, in the 15th century, who wanted to renovate this spa, for which he had white marble columns and brick and tuff vaults built. A mysterious face carved into a capital can still be found here: it is that of his daughter Medea, who died at the age of 14 from a lung disease. And it is here that her father, stripped of his warrior armour, chose to remember her.

Baths, whirlpool baths, complete health check-ups, massages, and cycles of complete thermal cures are some of the services offered at Trescore, which combine rehabilitation, nutrition, and treatment of respiratory tract pathologies with thermal aesthetic medicine. There are numerous packages, cycles of cures, and possible combinations for your well-being.

Natural health is also junior at Trescore: the thermal baths are an excellent ally for mums and dads who choose fewer antibiotics and drugs to treat their little ones. According to the Foundation for Thermal Scientific Research, thermal treatments reduce the risk of relapses of respiratory disorders and otitis.

Today, alongside the modern facilities of the thermal complex, there is a comfortable hotel surrounded by greenery and a green hostel housed in a 19th-century hotel in a wonderful panoramic position. Who knows whether Garibaldi would have made Italy or stayed longer here to be pampered on the terrace?
