DAY PROGRAMME:
MORNING at BIANZANO CASTLE and the FAL’FIL MUSEUM and “C’ERA UNA VOLTA” COLLECTION in RANZANICO (9 a.m. – 12 p.m.):
– Guided tour of Suardi Castle in Bianzano, dating back to the 13th-14th century AD. A fascinating and mysterious castle, from which you can admire a splendid view, listen to ghost stories and follow the traces of the Templars scattered throughout the building. A true medieval gem that houses perfectly preserved frescoes;
– Guided tour of the Fal’Fil Museum and “C’era una volta” (Once upon a time) collection in Ranzanico. This place, part museum, part workshop, was born from the intertwining of silk threads. Its name, Fal’Fil, is a nod to local tradition: in the Bergamo dialect, it means “to flirt”. And you can learn how to make silk thread among the stone fireplaces and Art Nouveau decorations of Palazzo Re in Ranzanico, on a journey through history and craftsmanship that starts with silkworm breeding and ends with the creation of precious silk;
– A unique journey in stages, presenting original tools and technologies from the 17th to the 20th century. And in May and from September to mid-October, you can see the beautiful silkworms at work;
– The upper floors of the palace house the precious “C’era una Volta” (Once Upon a Time) collection, which takes you on a magical journey into our past;
– With antique furnishings, costumes and objects, you can immerse yourself in an evocative and accurate reconstruction of family environments from the 1800s, admiring a small miniature classroom worthy of the novel “Cuore”;
– Worthy of note is the antique games room with an original and fantastic Bergamo puppet theatre complete with puppets!
