We propose an educational project tailored for all levels of education, ranging from kindergarten to secondary school.
The activities we offer will be specifically designed and adapted to align with the annual theme chosen by each institution, which you will communicate to us during the initial contact.
Art and Nature in Luzzana: a Giant, an Art Forest, and a Magical Museum to Discover…
Programme (valid for the entire morning, or at other times upon request):
– Welcome: Introduction with a brief historical account of Giovanelli Castle;
– Optional Animated Reading: A reading session on the chosen theme, organized in collaboration with the Luzzana Library, held in the Castle’s structure that houses the Museum;
– Short Film: Screening of a brief film presenting the artist Alberto Meli and selected works inspired by his interaction with the surrounding natural environment;
– Guided Tour: A themed tour of the museum, engaging visitors through visual and sound effects to create a playful and educational experience, suitable even for young children;
– Art Workshop: Hands-on creative activities using various techniques and materials, tailored to the selected theme (and preferences where specified). With prior agreement, completed works can be displayed in the museum for a few weeks before being returned to the participating classes;
– Outdoor Activity (Weather Permitting): As an alternative to or in addition to the workshop, participants can enjoy a walk through the open-air Museo Diffuso. This includes the impressive sculpture of Il Gigante (1841 by Giosuè Meli), carved into the living rock and guarding the Parco del Gigante. The park runs alongside the Bragazzo stream, with pools and waterfalls visible from charming bridges. The Museo Diffuso also showcases works by Giosuè Meli (1816), Alberto Meli (1921), Ester Gaini (1929), and more recent pieces created by the Luzzana Evening Art Course and other local artists.
The Giovanelli Castle, home to the Museum of Contemporary Art, is a secure facility offering a variety of open-air spaces, including a newly equipped playground suitable for breaks and snacks. The structure is fully accessible, with toilets and entrances adapted for individuals with disabilities, including chair lifts, in compliance with current regulations.
Given our mission to promote art and the local territory, and thanks to the support of volunteers, the contribution requested from each student will remain symbolic.
We are happy to provide any further information or clarification.
