On Sunday 14th July, the “Cuore di donna” association organised a 13km walk (with an 8km variant), a 5km group walk (with a 3.5km variant), and the “Dragon Boat Regatta”.
Thanks to the “Cuore di donna” Association, which supports and fights female cancers, three events have been organised on Saturday 14th July, supporting the free prevention campaign for women aged between 20 and 45 in Val Cavallina, and many other ongoing projects.
The organisation of the day includes a 13km non-competitive march (with an 8km variant), entitled “Run, walk, don’t stop…”, suitable for those with good athletic training. “In cammino contro il cancro” (Walking against cancer) is instead a group walk of 5km (with a 3.5km variant), suitable for all adults and children (also suitable for buggies and prams). Finally, around 11.30 a.m. the “Dragon Boat Regatta” will begin, which will continue until around 3 p.m.

PROGRAMME
“Run, walk, don’t stop…”:
– A 13km non-competitive march (with an 8km variant);
– Suitable for those with good athletic training;
– Start and Finish: municipal sports centre;
– 7 a.m.: meeting/opening of registrations;
– 8 a.m.: closing of registrations;
– 11.30 a.m.: route closure;
– Participation fee: €5.00 (including CSI insurance and event gadgets – while stocks last);
– There will be four refreshments along the route and one at the finish. Showers and changing rooms are available at the sports centre;
– For those who wish, for an additional €5 (excluding children up to 10 years of age), it is possible to participate in the Buffet to be held at 1 p.m. in Monasterolo del Castello at ex-Monasterola, Via Garibaldi.
“Walking against cancer”:
– A group walk of 5km (with a 3.5km variant);
– Suitable for all adults and children (also suitable for buggies and prams);
– Start: Casazza (Bg), recreational area next to the municipal sports centre;
– Finish: Monasterolo d.C. (Bg) – Ex Monasterola;
– 8 a.m.: meeting and registrations at the sports centre;
– 9 a.m.: closing of registrations and start;
– 11 a.m.: route closure;
– Participation fee: €10.00 (excluding children up to 10 years of age). The participation fee includes CSI insurance and event gadgets – while stocks last;
– There will be one refreshment along the route and one at the finish;
– After the “Dragon Boat Regatta” and kayak crew demonstration, free buffet while supplies last;
– On request shuttle service (from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.) from Monasterolo D.C. to Casazza offered by Autoservizi Zambetti.
“Dragon Boat Regatta”:
(Indicative times)
– 11.30 a.m.: demonstration/dragon boat competition/flower ceremony teams with the participation of the Cuore di Drago Val Cavallina team, born from the project: “Battere il tumore a colpi di pagaia” (“Beat cancer with a paddle”) of the Cuore di Donna Association and with the participation of female and male teams from various parts of Italy;
– 12.30 p.m.: kayak demonstration;
– 1 p.m./1.30 p.m.: a free buffet for all participants subject to availability;
– 2.30 p.m./3 p.m.: prize-giving ceremony;
– Surprise guests will be present at the ex-Monasterola at via Garibaldi.

The Association will continue with its free prevention campaign (examinations, ultrasound scans, and mammograms) for women between the ages of 20 and 45 in Val Cavallina, as well as continue to invest in its ongoing projects, namely:
– “LISTENING POINT” and “WELLNESS POINT” at the ASST Bergamo Est in Seriate, to be able to offer women undergoing oncological treatment ever more attention;
– the “BEAT CANCER WITH A PUDDLE” project;
– the “SCHOOL and PREVENTION…a winning combination against cancer” project;
– project: “BRING HEALTH INTO YOUR COMPANY” prevention awareness campaign.
